Q:
How to upgrade membership from Non-Fishing to Full-Fishing Member
A:
Membership types and benefits are shown on the JOIN NOW page of the web site Home page.

Non-Fishing members can upgrade to Full-Fishing membership status by paying a one only fee of $30.

Payment can be made through any PayPal account to natpaypal@flyfishaustralia.com.au

If using this option please send an email to secretary@flyfishaustralia.com.au providing your payment details so the the secretary can arrange for your membership profile status from “Non-Fishing” (AKA Level 2) to “Full-Fishing (AKA Level 3).

At the time of making that payment if the applicant has a “recurring payment” with PayPal for their membership they should go into their personal PayPal account and change the value of their recurring payment from $50 to $80. If they do not have a recurring payment in place with PayPal they should note that when they next pay their membership feee that should pay $80.

Q:
What do I do if I had a recurring payment in place for my membership and it did not go through?
A:
  1. Follow this link to see if you do have a recurring payment in place.
  2. If you have a recurring payment in place and it did not go through contact PayPal and ask why it was not paid.
  3. The most common reason is:
    • That users have not updated their details with PayPal when they have changed credit cards or other details.
    • They have or had insufficient funds available when the automatic payment date came around.
  4. Follow the steps in this link to pay your membership. If your membership renewal date is passed this process will still work and will also generate a new automatic renewal.

  2. Enter your PayPal user name and password.
  3. Check if you really did have a recurring payment in place to pay your membership renewal.
  4. In the search box at the top right hand side of the page type “pre-approved payments” – this will give you a link to your pre-approved payments list – click the link to open the pre-approved payments list.
  5. Check and see if there is a pre approved payment in the list … if there is not then the pre-approved payment to FFA was either not set up or more likely was cancelled by you at some stage.

Note: $30 administration fee applies to all manual memberships applications.

Q:
Can I pay for just one year (no reoccurring payment)?
A:
It is important to understand that FFA does not have access to your PayPal account so only you can establish or cancel a recurring payment against your PayPal account.

You can join FFA for one year and not have a recurring payment in two different ways:

  1. If you want to join on-line.
    • Click on the red “Join now” button on the home page and follow the full join now process.
    • As part of the on-line Join now process you will set up a recurring payment on your PayPal account that you can cancel at any time even straight after you set up your membership. It’s important to understand that cancelling your recurring payment on your PayPal account does not cancel your membership of FFA from that point of time. Your membership will still continue for one year from the time you set up your membership. If you do cancel the recurring payment and do not pay your membership fee manually on or before your anniversary date at the end of that period your membership benefits of FFA will automatically stop.

It is important to note that it is the responsibility of members to maintain their membership and that FFA does not contact members if their membership lapses due to non payment of the membership fee.

The process to follow to cancel a recurring payment on your PayPal account is set out on this link.

  2. Alternatively you can set up a manual membership by following the process set out under the appropriate heading in the QUESTION & ANSWERS box which can be accessed through the search function or through the red “Join now” button on the home page.
