The Fly Fish Australia Board would like to confirm that loch style competitions will now be fished entirely from boats, and bank sessions will no longer be included.

In recent years, a few events have used bank sessions to accommodate extra competitors, but after review, the Board has agreed that all loch style events should remain boat-based only to keep things fair, consistent, and safe for everyone.

If there aren’t enough entered boats, the last registered non-boater will unfortunately be notified that they can’t compete in that event.

This isn’t a rule change — just a return to how loch style competitions are meant to be fished.
